Ehler-Danlos Syndrome Definition:

Ehler-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a term used to name a group of rare genetic disorders of connective tissue. Features of EDS include skin hyperextensibility, joint hypermobility, and tissue fragility.

Ehler-Danlos Syndrome Causes:

EDS occurs in a ratio of about 1:5,000 people. In addition, there are several types of EDS, but the most common is hyper-mobility.

Ehler-Danlos Syndrome Symptoms:

People with EDS may experience various symptoms including: chronic pain; easy bruising; heart complications, such as mitral valve prolapse; fatigue; sleep disturbances; headaches; and migraines.
